always wear glasses …
take mele weapons and mabie a gun seek entrance to another country or try to get help find a desolate place but bring lots of supplies find a place like a country house or farm or mabie an uninfected village find a boat and try to escape!
always wear glasses and something to cover your nose and mouth then u cant obtain a virus from a blood splatter make sure you have no cuts and wear thick clothing if suitable this may stop a zombie bite

well,well, the virus spread faster than you think, the best cure is a shot in the face, tho u might survive a zombie attack, losing a limb, arms or legs, you will not survive much longer, since with one arm, or one leg, u would either aim bad, or limp onwards, either way, death will come to you….death or death/reanimation

Yeah, it can give you radiation posioning if you are around it for too long, so it can kill you without even biting. Buuut, not being a radiation expert, i´m guessing hours, days or even weeks of exposure depending on how contaminated it is.
Theoreticaly, it could cause a zombie to decline faster to being an inert one due to some types of radiation destroying cell structure, but i wouldn´t count on it.
